Beloved Dervishes,
This morning I opened to a few lines of Mevlana in a beautiful pillow book called Rumi’s Little Book of the Heart.
Today is such a happy day.
There is no room for sadness.
Today we drink the wine of trust
from the cup of knowledge.
We can’t live on bread and water alone.
Let us eat a little from the hand of God.
And this came to me from that:
Let us drink from the Hand of God
Let us be wholly satisfied
Only You, Only You O Lord and Self
Can quench our desires, can fulfill our heart,
Take our hand, move our feet and lead us to You
Embrace our faults, remove our sadness,
and drown us in Your love,
Show us our truth as not separate from You,
Give us true life, O Essence of our essence,
Our eyes from Your Eyes, our hearing in Your hearing.
The light of Your Face is flooding our being,
Our breast is bared to the sword of Your truth,
Our heart is open to Your Hand of love.
By You we die, by You we live,
Let us live, let us live, O Dawn of Existence,
O full moon of joy,
Alive in Your breath, renewed in Your love,
Ever living knowing being You as Love.
