Happy and Blessed Father’s Day!
In the Always New and Ever Present Radiance of Allah’s Compassion and Love
Dearest Circle Guides and Dervishes
Peace to your hearts on this Father’s Day of Ramadan.
Thank you to all the fathers and the ones with the hearts of fathers.
We thank you for your care, for your strength, for your jalal beauty, for your wisdom, for your earthiness, for your heavenliness.
Thank you for journeying and working for the good of your families and the human family.
Thank you for your bravery, for your willingness to die for truth and to die to protect others.
Thank you for your physical prowess and your ability to stand in the earth, to navigate the ocean, and to gaze at the sky.
Thank you for your inventiveness and creativity.
Thank you for holding the sacred form of tradition, for insisting on accuracy and detail.
Thank you for being the bearers of many of the revelations from the Source of Being to our human family.
Thank you for your beautiful resonant voices that recite the sacred revelations carrying the resonance of the Divine.
Thank you for standing for justice.
Thank you for taking our tribes through the deserts, mountains and forests to places of safety. Thank you for building dwellings of peace for us.
Thank you for building and making beautiful things for our well-being and delight.
Thank you for being Prophets, saints, friends, artists, musicians, inventors, builders, soldiers, farmers, herders, the fathers of children and the husbands of women.
Thank you for helping to honor the station of the woman as equal to your own yet different, and to love her.
Although we love the father so dearly as the precious locus of Allah’s great manifestation, we do not fall into patriarchy - or matriarchy - because the essential human soul is beyond male and female, yet tinted in the beautiful shades of both.
The Generous Koran states clearly, “Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the blessed culmination of the noble lineage of Prophets. And Allah is the One Whose knowledge embraces every detail of creation.” (33:40)
This teaching helps us to understand the station of the Prophet Muhammad, may he be showered in divine peace, within the human family, and also to understand the essence of the human soul.
From the axis of essence we can love even more deeply the precious manifestations of the Essence.
